ORGANIC PRODUCTS FROM FINLAND
Organic Food Finland is an Export Group specialized in organic food from Finland and manages the export of organic goods from eight participating companies.

• Kiantama Ltd (wild billberry, mountain cranberry)
• Maustaja Ltd (contract manufacturing and packaging of food)
• Norrgård Ltd (organic potato flakes)
The group has developed a joint brand for exported organic products from Finland: Napapiiri Organics.

Mr Erkki Pöytäniemi, who has a long history in international sales and marketing of organic products, is CEO and Export Manager of Organic Food Finland and each partnering company.

FINNAMYL Ltd
Finnamyl Ltd is the leading manufacturer of potato flour or starch in Finland with an annual production of 23 000 MT. Finnamyl has produced also certified organic potato starch since 2000. Most of this is sold on the domestic market through mainstream supermarkets, where it has achieved a 2% market share of total potato flour retail sales.

Helsinki Mills Ltd is one of the leading milling companies in Finland and the market leader in organic flour and flakes on the Finnish retail market and in industrial sales. The mill in Järvenpää was built in 1992 and is one of the most modern mills in the Nordic countries. Polar Mills Ltd, a full subsidiary of Helsinki Mills Ltd located in Vaasa, specializes in producing flakes.

KANKAISTEN ÖLJYKASVIT Ltd
Kankaisten Öljykasvit Ltd, produces high quality cold pressed organic rape seed oil under the Virgino brand name in Hämeenlinna, c 100 km north from Helsinki.The Virgino oil is produced from organic summer rape seed cultivated in the vicinity of the factory in Finland. This rape seed is a distinct species that is hardly cultivated in other regions of Europe or the world.

KIANTAMA Ltd
Kiantama Ltd was founded in 1973. The company is specialized in collecting and processing wild berries in Suomussalmi in north-eastern Finland. The focus is on dehydrated berries but also berry juice concentrates, purees and IQF frozen berries are available. The most important berries are wild billberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) and mountain cranberry (lingonberry; Vaccinium vitis-idaea). Other berries are Cranberry, Mountain Blueberry, Rowanberry, Cloudberry, Sea Buckthorn. With well developed processing and packaging techniques the colors and flavors of berries remain as natural as possible.
