Helsinki Mills Ltd is one of the leading milling companies in Finland and the market leader in organic flour and flakes on the Finnish retail market and in industrial sales. The mill in Järvenpää (link to map) was built in 1992 and is one of the most modern mills in the Nordic countries. Polar Mills Ltd, a full subsidiary of Helsinki Mills Ltd located in Vaasa, specializes in producing flakes.

Helsinki Mills Ltd has milled organic flour and flakes since 1987 and has sbeen active in organic exports since 2000 when export of wheat flour to France was started.

The main speciality of Helsinki Mills Ltd is organic oat flakes. Finland and especially the Finnish West Coast region of Pohjanmaa is one of the main oats producing regions of Europe, well known for its high quality oats. C 30% of European organic oats are produced in Finland!

Helsinki Mills Ltd with its modern milling technology is one of the leading organic oat millers in Europe with exports to several European countries; mainly to muesli and biscuit manufacturers.

Helsinki Mills Ltd's organic milling operations are based on domestic wheat, oats, rye and barley. The grain is bought directly from contracted farmers ensuring full traceability to farm level. For full list of products please check the product list below.

Since 2003 a number of Finnish cereal farmers have been NOP certified for the US market. Helsinki Mills Ltd's Vaasa operation has been NOP certified since January 2005, enabling production of NOP certified flakes and flour for the US market and for manufacturers who target the US market.
